Rental terms and conditions

These conditions govern the rental of vehicles between Reliable Car Rental, with registered address at Serulora weg 73 Curaçao, Willemstad, and the person making the booking. By confirming a booking, the customer accepts them. 1. Who may drive The minimum age is 21. The driver must present a valid driving licence held for at least one year, together with their passport or identity document. Licences not written in the Latin alphabet must be accompanied by an international driving permit. Additional drivers must identify themselves at the counter before handover; driving without appearing on the contract leaves the rental without cover. 2. Booking, price and payment The price shown when booking is the final price for the dates chosen: it includes the 9% OB tax, compulsory insurance and unlimited mileage. Nothing is charged when booking and no card is required. Payment is made at handover, in cash or by card. Charges for delivery away from the office are stated before you confirm. 3. Cancellation and changes Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the pick-up time. Within those 24 hours, and in the event of a no-show, one rental day is invoiced. Changes of date, time or pick-up point are free whenever availability allows; simply write to info@reliablecarrental.com quoting the booking number. 4. Pick-up and return The vehicle is handed over clean and with a full tank, and must be returned that way. If it is returned with less fuel, the difference is invoiced plus a service charge of 25 USD. A return more than 59 minutes late, without notice, is invoiced as an additional day. Outside office hours, the return is arranged in advance. 5. Insurance, excess and damage All rentals include third-party insurance and damage cover for the vehicle with an excess of 750 USD. The excess can be reduced to zero by taking out the extended cover at pick-up. The insurance does not cover damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, by driving off paved roads, by handing the wheel to someone not named on the contract, nor damage to tyres, underbody, roof and glass where basic cover was taken. 6. Use of the vehicle The vehicle may not leave Curaçao, nor be used for the paid transport of people or goods, nor for towing, nor take part in competitions. Smoking inside is prohibited; specialist cleaning is invoiced at 150 USD. 7. Fines and tolls Traffic fines incurred during the rental period are the customer's responsibility. Reliable Car Rental provides the driver's details to any authority that requires them and applies an administrative charge of 35 USD for each case it has to process. 8. Breakdowns and assistance Roadside assistance is included 24 hours a day on +599 9 564 9279. In the event of a breakdown, the customer must stop the vehicle in a safe place and notify us before commissioning any repair on their own account: unauthorised costs are not reimbursed. 9. Personal data The processing of the customer's data is described in the privacy policy. 10. Applicable law These conditions are governed by the law of Curaçao.
